Why BeraHub Matters: Beyond the Dashboard

BeraHub is not only a location to store your tokens, it's the realization of Berachain's devotion to community governance and Proof-of-Liquidity. It's where the strength of the "Beras" (the Berachain community) is made real.

By giving $BGT holders complete governance control directly, Berachain ensures the development of the platform rests within the hands of the individuals that care most for its prosperity. Your voice, via your $BGT, has direct implications on the parameters and the long-term development of the protocol.

The ability to delegate $BGT and earn rewards is a strong incentive for users to engage with validators in a positive way and, by extension, the dApps that those validators choose to fund through Reward Vault emissions. It leads to a virtuous circle of rewards for the entire ecosystem. BeraHub provides a transparent view of validator performance and governance proposals, providing users with the power to make informed decisions.

What Can You Do on BeraHub?

BeraHub is your single source for everything $BGT. Following are some of the major features:

Track Your Holdings and Performance: BeraHub provides a clear overview of your $BGT holdings, delegated tokens, earned rewards, and voting history. It's like a personalized financial dashboard for your Berachain participation.

Swap Tokens: Need to exchange tokens on Berachain? You don't even have to leave BeraHub. It allows you to quickly and easily swap tokens with low fees and efficient routing. This makes managing your entire Berachain portfolio much simpler.

Delegate (Boost) Validators: Support validators you believe in and earn a share of their rewards by delegating your $BGT. This "boosts" their BGT emitted to the Reward Vaults (which are selected by the corresponding validator) and increases your potential earnings. You can research validators and manage your delegations directly within BeraHub.

Claim Your Rewards: All those rewards you've earned from providing liquidity and delegating? BeraHub is where you collect them. The interface makes it easy to see your accumulated $BGT and claim it directly to your wallet.

Participate in Governance: Your $BGT gives you voting power. BeraHub is where you can participate in governance proposals, directly influencing decisions about Berachain's future. This can cover anything from protocol parameter changes, new collateral asset types for $HONEY, to whitelisting new Reward Vaults.

Redeem $BGT for $BERA (One Way): If you need extra $BERA to pay for gas fees or any other reason, you can burn your $BGT to receive the same quantity of $BERA with a 1:1 ratio at BeraHub. Incidentally, it is one-way traffic where you cannot redeem $BERA in place of $BGT.

Manage Liquidity Pools: Add and remove liquidity from various pools directly within the platform, earning trading fees and receipt tokens (LP tokens). Review all active Reward Vaults, and chose the best for you.

Before You Start

You'll need a compatible wallet: Make sure you have a wallet like MetaMask or Rabby set up and connected to the Berachain network.

You’ll need some $BERA: $BERA is Berachain's gas token, used to pay for transaction fees. You can buy $BERA tokens on various exchanges.

Swapping Tokens on BeraHub

The "Swap" section is your starting point for exchanging tokens on Berachain. The swapping interface is similar to the design you are used to from other DeX platforms. Here you can exchange native ecosystem tokens (WBERA, BERA, HONEY, BYUSD, USDC.e, USDT0, WBTC, WETH etc.) and swap BGT for $BERA in the Redeem tab.

Managing Liquidity Pools

The "Pools" section is where you can become a liquidity provider and earn rewards.

You can start by exploring the available pools, each made up of a pair of tokens, like BYUSD and $HONEY.  BeraHub will show you important information about each pool, such as the current APY (your potential yearly earnings), the total volume being traded, fees and other valuable information.

When you find a pool that suits you, you can add your own tokens to it.  Remember, you'll need to provide an equal value of both tokens in the pair.  By adding liquidity, you're helping to make trading smoother for everyone on BeraSwap, and in return, you'll earn a portion of the trading fees generated by that pool.  But the rewards don't stop there! You'll receive special "receipt tokens," also known as LP tokens, which represent your share of the pool. These LP tokens are your key to earning $BGT, Berachain's governance token. The important next step is to take those LP tokens and stake them in a corresponding Reward Vault within BeraHub.

Staking in Reward Vaults

The "Vaults" section on BeraHub is your treasure map to earning $BGT. It's a central listing of all the active Reward Vaults across the Berachain ecosystem.

The dashboard at the top gives you a quick overview of the $BGT reward landscape – how many vaults are active, which validators are leading the pack, and the estimated total $BGT being distributed annually.

Below the dashboard, you'll find the "All Vaults" list. Each entry represents a different Reward Vault, and this is where you'll find the details.

Pay close attention to:

  • The Vault Name: This usually indicates which dApp and which action the vault is associated with (e.g., a specific liquidity pool on BeraSwap).
  • Incentives: Look for vaults offering extra rewards! These "incentives," often paid in the dApp's native token or other valuable assets, can significantly boost your earnings. Validators are incentivized to direct $BGT to vaults with attractive incentives.

Remember, to actually earn the $BGT, you need to deposit the correct LP tokens (the receipt tokens you get for providing liquidity) into the corresponding vault.

It's the moment of truth when you connect your provision of liquidity with the $BGT reward. Eventually, you'll accumulate $BGT rewards and will need to claim these rewards manually via the BeraHub interface (or maybe the dApp interface).

The Vaults menu of BeraHub is the gateway that opens and provides access to learning about and participating in Berachain's unique Proof-of-Liquidity reward system.

Interacting with Validators

On Berachain, you're not just a passive token holder, you're an active supporter of the network and a participant in its direction. BeraHub's "Validators" page is where you do this by delegation. You can search a list of active validators with their own history and contributions to the ecosystem.

By delegating your $BGT to a validator, you're essentially choosing a partner in the Proof-of-Liquidity system. Your delegation "augments" their chances of receiving rewards, and they share part of those rewards with you. It's a strategic choice, and BeraHub provides you with the information to make decisions. We have made an exhaustive guide on this topic: "How to Stake $BGT: A Step-by-Step Guide".

Participating in Governance

Berachain is a community-driven platform, and BeraHub is where the community comes together to make decisions. The "Governance" tab on BeraHub is where your earned $BGT translates into real power in influencing the future of Berachain. You'll have a clear overview of all active proposals – those presently open for voting – and past proposals, giving you a transparent picture of the development of Berachain.

For those that are deeply invested in the ecosystem, holding a minimum of 10,000 $BGT, there is even the possibility to create and submit their own ideas for community voting. Berachain's governance through $BGT ensures that those contributing actively towards the liquidity and health of the network are the ones that get to decide what direction it goes in.

Your Voice, Your Rewards, Your Berachain

BeraHub is your gateway to being an active and engaged part of the Berachain ecosystem. It's an empowerment portal to incentivize users to be involved, so a truly decentralized DeFi community can flourish. With a knowledge of how its various components function, you are able to swap tokens, supply liquidity, withdraw rewards, support validators, and vote in governance, making the most out of your Berachain journey. So, unlock your $BGT, head to BeraHub, and start helping craft Berachain's future!
